Female Wave of Change Welcomes Patricia Herrera in the Circle of Wise Women.

Female Wave of Change is very excited to welcome Patricia Herrera in her Circle of Wise Women. Her background in the nonprofit and civil society sector can be of interest for women worldwide. Patricia will work closely with our Ambassador in Mexico, Ihali Crespo.

Patricia is born and raised in Mexico City, and believes that social justice and change can be achieved now more than ever.

Nonprofit Management and Sustainable Development

She is an Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico City Campus. She has worked in Mexico, New York and Argentina. Patricia holds a Master in Nonprofit Management by the New School University and a certificate in Sustainable Development by Columbia University.

She founded and manages Pontis, a nonprofit consulting firm based in Mexico. She advises all consulting projects along with multidisciplinary teams of consultants that are put together for each project. Pontis has worked with over 50 projects for the public, private and nonprofit sector.

Guest lecturer and speaker

She has taught at the New School for Social Research in New York City and has been a guest lecturer at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Anáhuac and Valle de México. She has also participated as a speaker at various conferences on topics related to the social sector, such as Capacity Building, Technical Assistance, Civil Society, Fundraising and and Public Policy.

She has been a consultant for more than 16 years in Mexico and New York, starting in 2002 joining The Whelan Group, a boutique consulting firm for nonprofits located in New York City in 2004.


Patricia has more than 25 years of experience in the Civil Society sector.
She has co-founded three organizations of the civil society: Fundación Educa-México (México, 1996), Conecta (NYC, 2004) and Pontis (México, 2008)
She has been the Executive Director of three: Ven Conmigo, Fundación Rebecca de Alba and Pontis.
In the private sector, she was credit analyst for JP Morgan Chase for five years, after she joined and worked on development of new business in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She loves her city and her country very much and in her spare time you will find her playing bridge.
